To Google or not to Google? thats the new question
Something happened to Google on June 4th, yet to this day no one knows exactly what it was that happened. Different niches report that Sites have completely disappeared off the radar while other sites in the same niche were not affected. Other niches report strange behaviors in the serps. We in the search engine optimization field have heard 2 different things about what is going on but no confirmation from Google or anyone else on which one is correct. Either Google is getting ready to bust out a huge new update or there was some kind of human error involved and they have yet to figure out how to fix it.
Webmasterworld.com has one of the best threads available right now about this Google upset. One poster wrote “As to when it will end I don’t think we can predict as nothing quite like this has gone on before.” And that hits the nail right on the head. No one has ever seen anything quite like what is going on now. So was it a human error? If so that Google employee needs fired because he is messing with other people’s lively hoods. Depending on a company like Google to ensure that your business is going to make it seems completely unfair in the face of these blunders.
There are reports that the cached pages shown on Google are messed up as well. Some cached pages show the present site with old dates others have shown present dates with old versions of the cached sites. What is really going on? Update or a single human mistake? No one knows and Google has not said anything about it and we are now 16 days after the shakeup started.
